I've decide to make the talk about the downloading site in the asmegin thread a new topic, that way we can make suggestion without going off topic. It's a russian site so I have no idea what they all mean but I just love to discover new bands. Here's the link to the full download list: xpeh.harddays.net/index.php?lt=allTo download, just click on the desired band, click on the cd-title and then scroll down and click the red link (it usually downloads via mega-upload or turbo-upload). Bands you have to check out: - my dying bride - asmegin - limbonic art - Glitterind - Ultima thule - Borknager - ancient rites - Apoklyptica - dimmu borgir (duh) - Behemoth - Blind stare - catamenia - cradle of filth - doomsword (for some, it has really special lyrics) - Draconian - ensiferium - epica - equilibrium - hammerfall - helloween - iced earth - immortal - judas priest (duh) - katatonia - lord vampyr - lordi - moonspell - Naglfar (so I've heard, I just saw it on the list) - nile (heavy egyptian, be warned) - Oceans of sadness - paradise lost - prophet (more of a silent type like HIM) - rammstein (duh) - Saxon - soilwork - Tartaros - System of a down - The vision bleak - therion - Ulver (some cds of em, haven't checked out all the cds yet) - Xystus band not to check out: - Autumn (I think there are too bands with this name but the one on this site sucks) - the berzerker Some of these bands are familiar but I do recommend listening to the unknown ones too, most of em are really good.

I guess about 80% of that I already have. Mh ... anyway, atm my MegaUpload download limit is exceeded, so guess I'll have to wait for a bit

Anyway, from that site I also recommend: - Aborted (only if you like the really extreme death metal) - Amon Amarth (super Viking metal) - Arcturus (avant garde metal like you won't hear anywhere else ... well, the album I have at least, don't have the album from the site yet) - Avantasia (metal opera <3 ) - Ayreon (the better prog work) - Blood Stain Child (japanese death metal ... not too extreme though) - DragonForce (extreme power metal ) - Eternal Tears of Sorrow ( *loves* ) - Freedom Call (completely keyboard driven power metal) - Sentenced ( *loves even more* )

Seeing as there's lots of viking metal fans here, check out Falkenbach and Einherjer if you haven't already. It's also on the site.

Ok, here's something to help you Snel, leech.megaleecher.net/I haven't tried it myself yet but you input the link to a megaupload file and it will generate a premium link to it that will bypass your limit.

Autumn is really good! If you like After Forever and Epica, you've got to like Autumn! (Although Summers End is a better cd)

I like after forever and epica but the cd that's on the site (chernye kryljya) just doesn't do it for me. Like I said, I think there are 2 bands called autumn cuz about 2 years ago I heard another song by autumn called Cloven and that sounded a whole lot diffrent.

Personally, I've never had trouble with torrents. Just use a little bit of discression. (eg. when you see an album that's only a few hundred kilobytes, its usually not actually the album and could be something harmful)

^doesn't happen on that site
Never had any problems with it. btw. Try downloading windows defender from the microsoft site, I hear it's really good against spyware. You only need a genui windows on your computer with service pack 2.

Has someone who has downloaded from these sites before ever had any trouble with it? Virus/spam-wise I mean? Cause I got this easily infected computer here, so just to make sure.. ^^ 1) Do you have an up to date virus scanner? - If yes, then just use common sense (or discretion as krazor calls it) - If no, get Avast Antivirus, it's a FREE antivirus for home use. It has paid business subscriptions, but as a regular user it's free, and it's the best. These guys actually make a big deal of their money from selling specific parts of antivirus codes to Norton. 2) You got a firewall? ZoneAlarm is a free one, which does the job very good. Been using it for 3-4 years. Every 90 days or something it shows you a popup asking if you're SURE you don't want the paid version. But just click no. The free version works perfectly. Then, if you want you could install anti-spyware programs. Something I personally don't do, but that's because I don't HAVE spyware, that's the advantage of using alternative software it can't hijack. Anyway ... to answer to your question. On that site all the files seem safe. One file I downloaded in reality contained 2 video clips instead of an album, but no viruses yet. I've been using P2P for what, 3 years I think. And I only stumbled -once- on a virus.

Yeah, If you know about safe sites like the ones we link on here, you should be ok. Sometimes when you search for random sites to download torrents or otherwise, there could be problems but if you stick to safe known sites you'll be ok.
And windows defender is really good, although something did slip by it about a week ago (not related to downloading from these sites) and I had to manually remove it.
