ok I'll look into it, only problem is that I can't run photoshop from my laptop, so if you want me to I'll adjust according to your propositions but I can only do it next weekend, when I have acces to a decent desktop pc...

Hey people... I know, it's been disgustingly long since I last visted this place and contributed to anything useful.. I'm just extremely busy with school or other places on the internet.. There's some things I want to get out in fact:
* Firstly; I think everyone here will agree that I'd better pass my admin function to someone else, since DW is just not my priority anymore.. So now it's in fact up to you to decide who'll take over the position, and I'll arrange the change then (if I can figure out exactly how ^^) I will still be part of the community somehow.. And as for the reviewing part.. I'm also asked to do this at VikingBlood and Metal Observer.. Maybe I can combine them all or something, I'm still working that out for myself a bit =) But be sure that I won't leave you.. Darkwold is still my 'baby' XD
* Secondly; perhaps it's not up to me anymore to say this.. but can't we have another banner? New site/forum = new banner I'd say.. I don't want to give you guys any more work, but it's just a suggestion..
* Thirdly; a question.. Maybe it's a silly one and has already been asked before: but is it still the idea to create a new forum? Something in me says: I hope so =)

Good to see you again Coral
1. Well I'd want to vote for sneltrekker for the new admin if you really won't do it anymore (which would be a shame really) since he seems to be the most active mod around here
2. A new banner? I dunno. I think it kind of identifies the whole forum which has been here for quite some time now. Only if a new forum is created will it serve use imo.
3. What will happen to all our previous posts and threads if a new forum is created? I mean, it took long enough to build up this one to what it is now and I think not all the members will move so it'll start out small again

I thought some people said something about changing to phbb (or phhb what'sit? you know what I mean).. When you create a new forum you just start from zero obviously.. But we can still link to this forum as 'the old one' and don't add anything/allow new registrations on here anymore, just keep it as sort of memory.. I don't think the fact that not all members will move is a bad thing in itself, cause like that there will be just a smaller group of active members and not the whole lot of registered users with 0 or 1 posts.. As to the banner.. I just thought that it might be better to go for something more epic/folk/power/sympho-like, which seems to be the main genre that is listened by the members I guess..

php does have its advantages, I suppose but remember to login to this one from time to time or it will get deleted because of inactivity. less members = less traffic = less guest activity = less chance of someone new joining. Remember that also.
yeah, I guess a new banner would do if you see it that way...

Look's cool, only one thing, if I'm still supposed to take a look at the lay-out, you have to tell me what font you used . The only thing I would change is the background of the banner...

@ Krazor: looks really cool!! =D I'd say: let's use it.. @ BC: I don't really get what you mean.. Proboards forums don't get deleted I think when no one looks at them anymore.. I have some forums that are about 4-5 years old and they're still there although nobody ever checks them. And besides, you don't need to have new memebers joining here if there's another forum right?

I'm actually thinking now.
Could do two things:
1) Use a full phpBB2 forum. Allows 100% customising and all that shit, but well, you need a host to allow it. I got a host, but the contract runs until October 2008. After that, it's gone. I can't make it last longer than October 2008 either since it's connected to my status as Student at my college. Of course, we could use this as an opportunity (like, by October 2008 -still 18 months, so IMO worth trying- we see, is it worth it to get another host? Or shall we kill it off? Also, with phpBB2, you can move entire forums, with posts/replies/userlists etc from one host to another without problem. I can easily get a copy of the database on my current host and would just need import at new host)
2) Invision/Invisionfree. Free forum kind of like Proboards, but a lot better IMO. Also, I visit many IVF forums, and AFAIK they are completely bot-free. They can be customised very much. And come with a portal site automatically.

Ah yes, Invision is certainly another option.. But what do you mean with portal site?

krazor: I like the banner but it needs a diffrent background @coral: I didn't mean here, I meant on the new forum. not everyone will move there and then there will be less members there and that will result in less guests who want to join. Small forums don't get that much attention Sneltrekker: I'd go for php. I'm admin of an invision and the skin isn't everything. Also the coding is not as easy but I'm gonna start with Java soon so that would help. Also I already had spambots as well on invision. Spambots are getting smarter and smarter these days EDIT: for coral: a portal site a site which is displayed before you get to the forum

Heey, the new forum looks gooooood!! =P But eh, when I try to register this message appears: " The confirmation code you entered was incorrect" It's a bit weird right, I haven't even registered, how can I have to enter a confirmation code then? Someone else been getting this, or am I the only one??

An image with letters or numbers should be on the screen and you have to copy them into one of the boxes.
This helps prevent spam bots from joining.

Yeah, should be fixed now.
I guess the skin I installed didn't support those dynamic pictures.
