Having heard everything, I can safely say that IMHO, they hit their pinnacle with Hate Crew Deathroll. Favourite tracks: 'Needled 24/7' and 'Lil Bloodred Ridin Hood'

I don't agree. I think Follow the Reaper is by far their best. HCDR comes second. Except from some songs (Bed of Razors, Towards dead end), I don't really like their first releases.

My favourite is actually Something wild, since at that time, their sound was new and fresh and something new to the metal scene. After that, they've made few improvements and kept repeating themselves, and finally, on 'Are you dead yet?', it didn't work anymore (the album were voted 'Letdown of the year 2005' on Metalstorm).

Follow the Reaper. Something Wild as close second.
But I don't agree with Are you dead yet? I actually like that album a lot as well. Sure it may not be as innovative as their old albums, but it's still great.

I think the two best songs from 'Are you dead yet?' are 'Trashed, lost and strungout' and 'In your face', and both were already released on singles before the album was released, so they were nothíng new. I haven't found any other song that I like on the album.

Those actually are my fav songs on the album also. But I don't buy/listen singles, so it doesn't matter.

You should listen to the 'Trashed, lost and strungout' Ep/single/whatever (what's the difference?), it's got some very nice tracks!

Hatebreeder all the way, guys I'm not that much into CoB anymore, but that definitely was the album I enjoyed the most.

My preferred album stays Hate Crew Death Roll, I have all of the albums except Follow The Reaper (too bad). It won't change my mind either, the first album I bought was Hatebreeder, but HCDR was the first song I came in contact with cob. It's all excitement from the first touch till the last drop.

It seem that you have changed your mind about their best album As the first in this topic, you had chosen for HCDR But I will buy Follow The Reaper for sure, when I have the time (& the money)

Okay I knew you'd say that ;D Don't use my past as an evidence against me But it's true.. Back in those days I only knew HCDR and Hatebreeder well enough.. Now I know them all, I think FTR is better.. though still closely followed by HCDR

I honestly should have picked the I-can't-decide option because I love them all. But you know what? I'm defending my boys and picked Are You Dead Yet?
Wanna know why? Because it's a fantastic album that I feel most people slam because they CAN. I know of a lot of people who were bashing this album before it had even been leaked, much less released!
I can admit some newer releases by some bands really haven't been up to par...too many member shifts, too much time between albums causing loss of continuity, loss of inspiration, ect. Dissection's new album is a good example of this. A valiant effort that just didn't work.
But the only thing I hate about the metal community and mentality is the aversion to everything new a band does and general closemindedness.
This isn't pointed at you guys at all but the metal world as a whole. You guys are some of the most reasonable, friendly metal people I have met. And a huge breath of fresh air from the flame wars I seem to get stuck in for having an opinion at Metal Archives, Metal Storm and Dark Lyrics.
I think the progression Bodom has made is quite natural. AYDY is also just as metal as ever and quite enjoyable. I am a fan of new member Roope Latvala so that's certainly a plus. And I can HEAR Henkka this time around. I happen to like that.
But this is coming from a person that can enjoy Diabolic Fullmoon Mysticism AND Sons of Northern Darkness. Transilvanian Hunger AND Plaguewielder. Legacy of Kings AND Threshold. Land of the Free AND Majestic. Half the communities I belong to would remove my rights to an opinion for this sentiment. But you know what I say to that? Rubbish. ;D
