Time to kick some life into the Bands board again!
I guess some of You have seen me talking about Axamenta (since I do that in almost any topic for some reason). And You've probably been wondering "What is this Axamenta? Are they another one of those crappy prog bands Silhouette keep dragging into this forum?". Or perhaps that's not what You've been wondering at all (would make me very happy if You didn't).
In musical direction, Axamenta is extreme metal. Yes, only extreme metal, they're both black and death, in a mix that's pretty hard to separate. And yes, they are progressive, but please, don't run away! If You like Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth, or In Flames and Dark Tranquillity, their latest album is definitely something for You! The mix of black and melodic death metal, mix of high and low growls, and sometimes clean vocals, and with a great orchestration reminding me a bit of Biomechanical at some times, this band plays really great music!
The latest album is entitled Ever-arch-I-tech-ture, and is a very dark and evil concept album. Since the concept sometimes is hard to understand, I leave it up to You to find out what the album really is about, if You take Your time listening to it, You will find out soon enough.
Since my favourite band is Pain of Salvation, I also have to mention that Axamenta have a guest appearance from Daniel Gildenlöw on the album (what an honour!). The vocal melodies and harmonies in the song Threnody for an ending has been created and sung solely by Daniel, and I can assure You, it is a great track, and a nice slowdown after some furious extreme metal in the beginning of the album.
My favourite tracks of the album: Demons shelter within, Ashes to flesh, Threnody for an ending, Prophet set to witness.
