Ooo I reckon people check out Dark Moor if you like power metal with a classical influence. I just recently discovered them and have the 'Dark Moor' album. The male vocalist has an amazing voice! 'A Life for Revenge', 'From Hell' and 'The Dark Moor' are fantastic songs.

They were great with their old female vocalist. Still good now, but I simply preferred the way there were back then. =D

So is 'Dark Moor' their first album I take it? Cos they have a female vocalist on there - sounds a bit operatic. I don't really know a great deal about em yet, except I like those songs mentioned!

Dark Moor is their second last album ... I don't have that one ... but I thought that Dark Moor was the first album done without Elisa

I discovered Dark Moor recently, but the band truly impressed me:) Here's history: Dark Moor is a Spanish symphonic power metal group founded in 1994 in Madrid - Enrik Garcia(guitars),Anan Kaddouri(bass guitar),Alberto Maroto (guitars),Jorge Saez (drums) and Elisa Martin (vocals).Their first album is called “Shadowland”,released in 1999.Their second album,"The Hall Of The Olden Dreams" comes out in 2000 with producer Luigi Stefanini (Labyrinth, Domine, White Skull).“The Hall Of The Olden Dreams” is licensed in Japan,Brazil,Koria,Russia,South America,Tailand,Romania. In 2000 the band receives the price for best new group from the Heavy Rock magazine. In the autumn of 2001 they begin creating their third album “The Gates Of Oblivion”,licensed in the USA and Canada.Their last album is “Between Light and Darkness” (2003),after that Elisa, Alberto and Jorge create a new group called Fairyland (with first album called “Of Wars In Osyrhia”).Enrik è Anan stay under the name Dark Moor as creators of the band.Soon after that are found the new members - Alfred Romero (vocals) and Jose Garrido (guitars).Their new album is called Dark Moor.

Oooh yeah - they released an album last year 'Beyond The Sea' and you can see the video of 'Before The Duel' from that album on the above link (thanks Sneltrekker)

I've only seen the video clip of Before the duel, and it was a pleasant suprise in todays somewhat boring, mainstream power metal scene. Is the rest of the album equally good? (and do the other songs actually sound like songs of their own, and not copys of Before the duel?)
