There have been many Zeldas over the years, starting with the very first Nintendo console. I had 'A Link To The Past' for the SNES hehe, then got 'Ocarina of Time' for the N64 which was a masterpiece of a game. 'Majora's Mask', also for N64 wasn't quite as good as OOT I don't think, however it had it's own charms. I've never properly played 'Wind Waker' for the GameCube. It put me off somewhat with the childish, cartoony-style graphics, and the GameCube was my brother's who didn't let me borrow it ...... BUT - Twilight Princess - is the new Zelda (GameCube) and looks positively magnificent! It's due out in the US in autumn of this year, and I think is available in the UK around November. Here's a little info about it: uk.cube.ign.com/objects/572/572738.htmlFound a nice little music video using the game's trailer, set to Nightwish's 'End of All Hope'. Love it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fu9dTc11Ak

I never liked Gamecube or N64 so never played the games for those. I did enjoy a link to the past though

The two Zelda on the N64 are the games with the best graphics, in my opinion. I never really played those game, because they were too hard for me

Ocarina of Time is probably my favourite game of all time. I just love that music ;D Majora's mask was definitly a let down though. Especially the ending (Navi, where art thou...?). I couldnt even finish the game when it first came out and only managed to several years later. Wind waker was probably worse though. It was way too easy and the cartoony graphics destroyed the great atmosphere of OoT. And all that sailing got very tedious very quickly Oh, and of course i can't wait for Twilight Princess. It's great to see they learned from their errors of Wind Waker and are presenting a much darker style.

That seems to be a problem with GameCube in general, a lot of games for GC have very cartoon-like graphics. Though I haven't played any Zelda games since 'A link to the past', so I wouldn't know about those. I think the old Zelda games are great though, especially 'A link to the past', but also the first one for NES.

Not really. The first GameCube games were really games for kids, and thus they made GameCube look like a kid console. But later on, there has been great and not very kid at all games, like Soul Calibur 2 & 3, and some others. (solely Soul Calibur II is worth buying a GameCube!)

Soul Calibur 2 worth buying a gamecube? Why? The game also came out for PS2 and Xbox ... have played XBox and PS2 versions. Out of those the PS2 version is definately better. Haven't seen the Gamecube version, but is it that much greater than the PS2 version?

Alright, I don't really know which version is the best one of them, but since I don't own any of the consoles, I would really buy any of them if I had the money, just to be able to play Soul Calibur II.
But this is really off-topic! No more Soul Calibur in the Zelda thread!

Arr, you heathens, Wind Waker was godly. GODLY I SAY! YE SHALL NOT DENY IT!!
*strikes with lightning*
And the reason to buy SC2 for a Gamecube, was that Link was an extra character. PS2 had Heihachi (who sucks and is cheap) and Xbox had Spawn (who was once again cheap).

That it one good reason I did not know about, thank You.
Though I still do not agree with You about Wind waker. I guess the game was okay, but the graphics... *sigh* Zelda is not really a game for three years old kids, right?
And, by the way, I'm totally immune to Your lightning strikes. Might as well give those up.

Gah, those graphics were GODLY. The only reason you can get that amount of data on such a tiny disc is thanks to the Cel Shading pwnage of Nintendo's graphics department.
Cel Shading is the future, at least on Ninty. Just wait for Sony to jump on the bandwagon, then Microsoft to be the lazy whore and finally give up realism for Cel Shading.
