I did group some things together, but that's to keep the list of answers short, and I put them together in logical groups I think. The reason I didn't put the handhelds with their companies and instead as one group is because I consider handheld gaming to be a completely different way of gaming than any console, even if it's by the same hardware producer.
My favorite system, and will remain, the PC. For a few reasons.
First of all, I like customisability in games. I love hacking games, reskinning stuff, downloading additional content from the internet.
Let me compare:
GTA: San Andreas on PS2. You buy the game, and that's what you get, you can't change anything about it.
GTA: San Andreas on PC. My guy is running around in a Sonata Arctica T-shirt, riding a Mini Cooper. Those are mods I downloaded or made (downloaded the mini, made the Sonata shirt for GTA myself). I love the fact that I can adjust the game and customise it to my tastes. MY imagination is the limit of MY gaming experience, the designer only lays out the basic rules (ie, the limits of the engine).
This is just one example of many. Usually I don't even buy games if I can't customise them.
Also, my favorite genre is sims games (The Sims, Sim City, Black and White, ...) and roleplaying games (Neverwinter Nights, Morrowind, Baldur's Gate, ...).
Those games are more common on PC, and the ones that do get ported to consoles are usually better on PC anyway, because nothing beats a mouse and keyboard. A console controller may be good for beat em ups and racing games, but for roleplaying and simming it sucks.

I would vote for PC too, simply for the downloadable content as you say, particularly for Morrowind ;D But as my computer system is now severely outdated and i dont have the knowledge nor money to upgrade it, ive had to revert to using my XBOX as my main gaming system, so my vote goes to that.

You /have/ to get a Screen capture of him wearing the T-Shirt. Anyway, back to poll. As much as i love the Playstation 2 and the Original PSX, i more enclined to play the old Nintendo games because of my love for retro stuff; especially games such as The Legend Of Zelda, Sonic, Mario, Paper Boy, Streets Od Rage, Street Fighter etc etc etc..endless hours of harmless fun!

Nintendo PWN. All the old shit rawks especially, and Emo's just latch onto anything popular to try to become accepted. Scum.
But anyway, Nintendo and PC for the win.

Pretty cool.
Im planning to get into editing my favourite PC game, Tactical Op's, and making a skin for my favourite Anime character, Urahara (my pic on here) and then recreating Soul Society (the idea of Heaven in Bleach) as a whole map. Should take a while, but it'll be fun.

It's gotta be Nintendo. Since back in the days of NES, Nintendo has continued to provide great original games, characters and systems and is constantly innovating. Also, pretty much wins just cos of Zelda.

I think the best RPG's ever created is to be found on the SNES console, which makes it my first alternative. And Gamecube's got the Soul Calibur games, and N64 has got Super Smash Bros. (which I think is a lot better than the upgrade, SSB Melee).
So it's Nintendo for me!

well...gaming systems...don't know where to start *g* somehow it all started with the C64 for me back in...oh my...when was that? 1986 or so? At least I got one when I was 6 years old or so and we had one in the house even earlier...next to an old (back then new and expensive) XT PC with green monito anyway I still like some of the classic C64 games from that time. in terms of fun and motivation for playing them I still consider games like outrun, summer/winter/california games and many many more I can't really name here (partly cause they were forbidden back then and maybe still are, yet everybody had them *fg*) for the biggest part of my gaming time I played on the PC...guess it started with those old Sierra and Lucasfilm (later Lucasarts) games like the Kings/Police/Space Quest series, diverse Larry's and ZakMcKracken...not to forget Tetris and stuff *g* Guess I played almost everything the was released in the late 1980s and the 1990s on the PC but my favourite genres became quite early adventures, RPGs and strategy stuff...Civilization for example is a classic I still play from time to time (though today it's rather Civilization III, part 4 was a bit disappointing). I was almost addicted to the Ultima series and I played and finished Ultima 6, 7 and 8 several times. But I also liked Might & Magic...guess 3-5 were the one's I really played much. Anyway it's really really difficult to name my favourite PC games as I know so many^^ Maybe some other place would be more suited for that... Anyway one argument against PC gaming was always the hunger for new hardware new games had. I really became aware of this when Strike Commander was released and you needed a 486 with 66 MHz and at leat 8MB of RAM to play it...back then this was rather unaffordable but I didn't mind and played it with my 40MHz CPU...no problem with waiting 20 minutes for loading one mission *g* I told myself really really often that it was stupid to buy new graphics cards, more RAM or bigger harddrives just to play some new games...but I still did this several times. The last time I did that was for Farcry...or was it WoW? Anyway that was when I still had my desktop PC. Now with the notebook upgrading has somehow come to an end plus I don't really play many PC games anymore. Console gaming started relatively late for me. I believe it was when FF7 was released for the Playstation when I decided to get one. Before that I hardly knew any console titles. Never had a SNES or Gameboy cause my parents were against it Later on I only played SNES, Sega or Gameboy games via emulator on my PC so I finally could play all the great SNES RPGs like the older FFs, Breath of Fire, Lufia or Terranigma... To shorten this a bit. At the moment I own the following consoles: PSX/Playstation (my second one...bought this relatively cheap at ebay because I wanted one with mod-chip to play burned CDs...you can't possibly buy all PSX games out there *g*) DC/Dreamcast (I bought it in early 200 when it became relatively cheap as it was evident that it would loose against the PS2. I guess this was a good thing to do cause I would have missed Shenmue 1+2, Skies of Arcadia, the DC version of Grandia 2 and other great games that were only released for DC. In my eyes the console still can compete with PS2 graphics. Guess I will never give it away^^) PS2/Playstation 2 (I also bought this one relatively late cause it took some time until it got cheaper. Plus I wanted a US console in order to play games that would never be released in Europe. Basically FF10 was the reason for buying it but since then there've been many other RPGs like the Xenosaga series for example I absolutely needed to play. One downside is that I have to buy US games as this console is not modded. So there are still many games waiting to be played until I can get/afford them...even ebay can get a bit tricky with these as I have to get them from the US) so that's it more or less

OMG. That's an awesome history. I got my C64 also around age 6. And I did play all those 'forbidden' games Outrun was also cool. My favorite was a game where you controlled a plane and needed to save prisoners though. And LucasArts Larry series, Civilisation, ... damn ... that's awesome I made my switch from C64 to PC quite late, Pentium MMX and Windows 95 were already out when I did, but I played all those games later on as well ^-^ "Later on I only played SNES, Sega or Gameboy games via emulator on my PC so I finally could play all the great SNES RPGs like the older FFs, Breath of Fire, Lufia or Terranigma..." I loved the old FFs and Breath of Fire also, played them all on an emulator. ^-^ At one time I had 600 GBA games and 150 SNES games on my PC.

PC for me. There is no other system that can get the same quality in graphics than a computer. Also: the gameplay is much more interesting if you have profesional tools like a decent gaming mouse.
