Surely you people have heard of this? Dont really wanna mention anything before i get permission too, since this is considered illegal 0_o So tell me if its fine to ramble on about *cough* "legitimate" downloads.

Hey, bittornado is 100% legal. (Of couse it can be used for illegal things)
But yeah, I used to use it a lot but my friend convinced me to switch over to Bit Lord and I'm liking it better.

It's a BitTorrent site/client?

Bittornado is a .torrent-client. And as far as I know, every .torrent-client is completely legal, even though they can be used to download illegal files.
I used Bittornado before, but I found both BitLord and Azureus (which I currently use) more effective.

I usually use BitComet or BitTorrent but I have heard that the Lord and Azureus are way better

I just got BitTornado ... might try Azureus again as well
But what I'm wondering, anyone knows some good .torrent sites? Mainly looking for one that features metal albums and one that features games. I know enough pages that have porn .torrents, but that's the only thing I'm not interested in atm (have enough of that already)

I usually use www.thepiratebay.org (they even have their own political party or something like that lol). I don't think there's very much porn on there but pretty much everything else. If I can't find what I'm looking for on there, i usuall just Google it.

rockbox.psychocydd.co.uk/Metal Torrents Galore. And theres even a kick-fucking-ass radio on it, hundreds of bands you can request to have played, and they stream in seconds flat, so its all damn good. And i had a Two-million-in-one search site, it went through isohunt.com, mininova.org, thepiratebay.org and about 20 others at once, torrents.to was its name, but the page aint loading. So i dunno if theyre still around.

If You are interested in finding any rock, metal or prog music, and participating in a nice community, visit www.komodoisland.net. If You take part in the discussions, say "thank You" after You download someones torrents, and perhaps share some albums of Your own, You will soon be accepted by the members, and they'll try to fill Your requests! Highly recommended! Tip of the day: Creating and sharing .torrents is piece of cake with Azureus, and You can even share it with other Azureus users without a tracker, using the built-in decentralized tracking ability! (or You can create Your own tracker) By the way, about the Pirate Bay: Yes, they've got their own political party called "Piratpartiet" (directly translated it means Pirate party). Though the site was supposed to be closed, it seems to be up and running still. The Swedish government were threatened with being blacklisted by the US if they didn't close down the site, since they considered Pirate Bay to be the biggest threat against the Hollywood industry. -.-

@bc: I used to think so too, but when I tried the latest version of Azureus, I found it even better and gave up BitLord.

I'm using µTorrent as torrent-client and didn't have any problems with it

I haven't checked it out, so I wouldn't know about it.
Maybe I should move this topic to the web-board in the non-music section? Since this discussion is about .torrents in general, and not music in any way. For now, I'll only change the name, since where discussing .torrents, not BitTornado.

@bc: I used to think so too, but when I tried the latest version of Azureus, I found it even better and gave up BitLord. ok, I'll try it out but damn I had to format my computer. btw. Are there any discographies on that site you mentioned cuz I rarely download just cds, mostly download full discographies.

There are both albums and discographies. Mostly, when someone posts some albums of a band, someone else fills in the missing albums, and in the end, it'll be a complete discography. Otherwise, just request it!

I recently discovered another good torrent site, www.demonoid.com . In particular they have a nice selection of audio books, i havent checked too much for other stuff yet. You need to register to download most torrents and they are not taking registrations at the moment but if you are interested in joining I can get you an invitation code that lets you join.
