De Standaard already corrected themself online. Though the article is still utter crap, well, it's obvious anyway it's written by someone who barely grasps what metal is except for a bar of iron.
Honestly? I hope some reporters get their ass kicked severely for this.
In other news, a fucking German sewer tabloid, got an actual picture of Mr. Lordi's face. Still, I refuse to post it. He looks cool, but it's an insult to their wish and their privacy to make pictures like that.

By now Het Volk has also found out they were wrong.
Still, in their article they say:
Some newspapers posted a fake picture of Lordi unmasked. Instead of fucking saying: We posted a fake picture.
Fucking idiots.
Also, a German tabloid actually got a real picture of Mr. Lordi unmasked by snooping on him with tele lenses. No fucking respect for his privacy while he has been saying for years anyone who photographs them without masks is an idiot and has no clue about privacy.
From now on I will no longer use the words n*wspaper or j**rnalist.
I will keep referring to them as toiletpaper since it produces nothing but sewage, and whorenalists since all they care about is the scoop and have no respect for anyone who is in fact human.
The photographer who made that picture of Mr. Lordi should be put on a big stake, with a few thousand prints of his picture scattered around him and put to flames.

Mwah, yeah You're right.. But maybe Lordi should have expected this would happen when they entered ESC.. Cause it's commercial crapness anyhow; and those journalists don't know anything about the band and all.. Though, when I'd be a journalist I'd do some proper research before publishing crap articles like this and thinking you're a big hit when you say COB are Lordi Proofs again that metal is 'underground' anyhow.. "Normal" people don't seem to understand a bit of it..

I don't really like journalists in general either, of course they have to make their living as well, but this kind of extreme story hunting is just bizarre.
I have yet seen no excuse whatsoever from Expressen for the Lordi picture. Though I haven't seen the picture myself in Expressen, it was posted on Bodom's website that Expressen was one of the newspapers it was posted in, so I guess that's true. I also get there will be no excuse from Expressen whatsoever. Swedish media... *sigh*

Flair? Oooh ... we have that at home. Screw my mom, she has no right to complain if I go and ritually burn it to drive the evil spirit of papparazi's out of our home.

Next year, all you'll see is Metal bands in Eurovision. And pissy old Britain will have some retarded pop act, that nobody will vote for, and we all get laughed at.
Or maybe they put me in charge, and we enter Dragonforce. Then youre all fucking screwed. XD

Yeah, it's really quite probable that there will be some 'harder' stuff next year.. Cause Lordi won they think they can all win.. Like all those Ruslana-clones last time

If there is another Eurovision. France can't stand to lose against Lordi, so they've been talking about not supporting it next year, and France is one if the biggest sponsors.

Belgium doesn't want to participate anymore either.. not that we were a sponsor or anything haha, but anyway.. They've only now realized they don't stand any chance..

First of all I would like to say that Lordi is not metal, it's more of a hard rock kind of band. However they aren't bad. I got their cd "The Akropolysk" or something like that.
I think it's good that these kind of bands participate in the Eurovision song contest (although it's not a fair contest, neighbouring countries always give many points no matter how good or bad the song is) but sending an actual metal band like let's say Dimmu Borgir would not be appreciated I think.

The album is called The arockalypse, and it's actually easier to spell than (and pronounce!) than apocalypse. This is not the right place or thread for tag discussions, but I do consider Lordi metal, since I (in most cases) consider hard rock and metal as the same thing. I agree it's not a fair contest all the time. But that's mostly because most of the participants are so eager to win, they forget what it's all about. It is supposed to be entertainment, it's no stupid race, and You don't have to win and be better than everyone else. Unfortunately, that hasn't been discovered by most countries yet. -.- It would be quite cool to see Dimmu Borgir in Eurovision, don't You think? Or an even heavier and rawer band, like Swedish Naglfar! (one of my favourite black metal bands)

Of course it would be cool to have a real heavy band in Eurovision but I don't thing they would even make it through the first round. I hear it all around me (cuz I'm like the only metal fan in a 500 mile radius), bands like that aren't appreciated amongst the audience of Eurovision.

It would be possible in Finland, and maybe also in Sweden and Norway, to get a heavier band to the top. It would be hard, but still possible.

I read that In extremo participated with the song 'Liam' in the German pre-selection of the Eurovision this year. Too bad they didn't make it, Liam is a great song.

This wasn't the Pre-selection for The Eurovision Song Contest ...
In Germany, there is a contest, where every "Bundesland" can take place. This kind of Show was born because always one of the eastern countries wins the contest because they only give points to their neighbour countries.
The show which you refer to is called "Bundesvision Song Contest", organised by a German Comedian called Stefan Raab.
